Lab 9a - POP3/IMAP
We will use the University of Washington IMAP package that comes with Red Hat 9. The following instructions assume that the SMTP lab was completed and Postfix is properly installed.
1. Install the IMAP package if it is not installed. It is on Disk 2 (FC1 disk 3).
2. Setup xinetd to listen for IMAP and POP3 requests.
3. Setup your windows client to check for mail with POP3 for Ron and IMAP for Harry. (Outlook can have two accounts setup at the same time. Otherwise do one and then the other.)
4. Send mail to each to check that it is working.
5. Have your work checked by the instructor.
Bonus (2 marks): Setup secure IMAP on the server and client with Hermione's account and test it.
